Freeze Dried Rabbit

Sale price$30.00

A whole-animal blend — muscle, organ, and bone — freeze-dried together. Rabbit is a true novel protein and one of the leanest red meats available.

  • Ingredients: Whole rabbit. Nothing else.
  • Suitable for: elimination diets, dogs and cats with several sensitivities, pets on weight management
  • Net weight: 3.5 oz (100 g)
  • 60% protein, 12% fat

Product detail

Most dogs and cats have never encountered rabbit. That is precisely why it works. When an animal has already reacted to chicken, beef, and lamb, the next step is a protein the immune system has no history with, and rabbit is the one veterinarians turn to most frequently.

Customers usually arrive here after an extended period of trying to resolve persistent itching, digestive upset, or repeated food changes that produced no improvement. In many of those cases, this is the protein that finally works.

This is a whole-animal blend rather than a single cut — muscle, organ, and bone freeze-dried together, closer to what a carnivore would encounter eating prey than a muscle-only treat. For cats in particular, rabbit is among the closest analogues to natural prey available in a commercial product.

At 12% fat it is markedly leaner than our duck or lamb blends, which makes it the whole-animal option for pets that need one without the calorie load.

On the bone: freeze-drying removes moisture at very low temperatures rather than through heat, so bone retains its original structure rather than becoming brittle as cooked bone does.

On price: rabbit costs more than chicken and will continue to. It is harder to source, and we would rather reflect that cost honestly than dilute the product to meet a price point.

If you are conducting an elimination diet under veterinary supervision, follow your veterinarian's protocol rather than the guidance below.

Ingredients and analysis

Ingredients: Whole rabbit.

  • Crude protein (min): 60%

Feeding guidance

Intended for intermittent or supplemental feeding only. Treats should account for no more than 10% of your pet's daily caloric intake, with the remaining 90% coming from a complete and balanced diet. Fresh water should always be available. Individual requirements vary — consult your veterinarian regarding your own pet.

  • Cat: 3 pieces per day
  • Dog under 20 lb: up to 5 pieces per day
  • Dog 20–50 lb: up to 11 pieces per day
  • Dog over 50 lb: up to 19 pieces per day

For smaller dogs and cats, break pieces into smaller portions. Whole-animal blends include organ, which is nutrient-dense — introduce gradually if your pet has not had organ meat before.

Supervision recommended. Contains bone.

Storage

Reseal tightly. Freeze-dried products draw moisture from the air and soften if left open. See the Best By date printed on the pouch.
