These are whole shrimp, shell included, freeze-dried and packed. Nothing is peeled, trimmed, or removed, which is what keeps the ingredient statement to a single word.

At 78% protein and 4% fat, shrimp sits alongside our scallop as one of the leanest things we make. The difference between them is aroma: scallop is close to odourless, while shrimp carries the smell most cats and dogs recognise instantly. If scallop was too subtle to interest your pet, this is the one to try next.

The shells give each piece a light crunch and hold their shape well, so they work as a standalone treat, a training reward, or crumbled over a meal. At 2 kcal apiece they can be used generously without displacing much of the day's calories.

Feeding guidance

Intended for intermittent or supplemental feeding only. Treats should account for no more than 10% of your pet's daily caloric intake, with the remaining 90% coming from a complete and balanced diet. Fresh water should always be available. Individual requirements vary — consult your veterinarian regarding your own pet.

• Dog under 20 lb: up to 15 shrimp per day
• Dog 20–50 lb: up to 30 shrimp per day
• Dog over 50 lb: up to 50 shrimp per day

Introduce gradually if your pet has not had shellfish before. For smaller dogs and cats, break shrimp into smaller pieces.

Storage and shelf life

Always go by the Best By date printed on your pouch — that date is specific to the batch you have, and it is the accurate one.

As a general guide, at 4% fat this keeps well: typically 12–18 months unopened when stored cool and dry, away from heat and direct sunlight. Once opened, use within about 60 days.

Reseal tightly after every use — freeze-dried shellfish softens quickly in humidity.
